As we approach the half way point of the term, with New Year resolutions already forgotten, a lot has happened at Sunny Bank Primary School.
The children have started 2020 with a keen and focussed enthusiasm and we are beginning to see the impact in their learning. They have already experienced themes of Resolve, Calmness and Discipline and behaviour and well-being across the school is much more positive as we continue to reinforce high expectations and deal quickly with children that impact on the learning of others.
There are a few changes to staffing to inform you of.
In the absence of Mr Okutubo, Miss Greenaway has covered Badgers class. This has been
hugely successful and so will become a permanent move to provide some consistency to the children in the class.
We welcome Miss Fagg and Miss Bell to Year 1 and Year 2 to support in the class and especially focus on the children’s development of reading.
With the Year 6 SAT’s only a few months away, we would also like to welcome Mrs Hall to Sunny Bank. She will be teaching Year 6 alongside Mr Miles to ensure that the children have the right support to ‘Be the best they can be’ before they move on to secondary school.
We would also like to welcome Charlton Athletic and On Target Multi-Sports who have started to coach each year group to develop their sporting abilities and experience some different games and activities.
There are a number of events and experiences happening over the next few weeks that you might want to make a note of:
Monday 27th January – Fit4kidz Workshops: Children can come to school in their sports gear /PE kits (no charge)
