Another busy term ahead for our Year 5 and 6 children. Please support your children throughout the next few weeks as they make their final preparations for their SATs tests. SATs club will continue for any Year 6 children to help them with their revision on a Tuesday for the next four weeks. Sessions will finish at 4:15pm.

This term our topic is Islands and the focus will be on the geography. The topic will compare St Lucia to the British Isles. In addition to this the children will be developing their problem solving and thinking skills as well as making their own decisions and choices by creating their own Islands. RE this term will focus on Sikhism and in Science we will be studying Light and then Animals including humans. Included within the term 6 topic will be a Sex education unit. (details of which will follow.)
In term 6 the year 5 and 6 children will be putting on an end of year production. This will give children to either perform on stage, sing in the choir or work behind the scene on staging and props.

Each child should have a named PE Kit, consisting of a white T/shirt, navy shorts and plimsolls, in a named PE bag. This should be brought into school each Monday and remain in school for the week. All earrings should be removed on PE days, please. In term 6, Year 6 will also be going swimming . This will be on aa Tuesday morning. (details to follow) Homework will be set weekly on a Friday and they will be given a week to complete it. Your child will bring home a spelling list, a mathematics activity. They will also bring home a copy of the topic work for this term. In addition to this your child should read daily and learn their multiplication tables. Please remember to sign their reading record each time you have heard them read. Thank you
This term we will continue to group the children into spelling groups across Key Stage 2. The children will have a structured 20 minute daily spelling lesson in their group. In order to benefit from this more fully please help your child to learn their weekly spellings. Thank you.
