Wriggle and Crawl (Topic and English)
In English we will be looking at non-fiction writing and creating information texts about frogs and butterflies. We will then be writing stories based on the book, The Tadpoles Promise. In topic we will be going on mini-beast hunts, making maps, creating chalk art and building bugs with cardboard boxes.
This term we are going to be learning about geometry, multiplication, division. We will be also be reviewing addition and subtraction.
In Science we will be learning about different animals and their habitats as part of our Wiggle and Crawl topic.
Please continue to support your child with daily reading of their school reading book or books that you have at home. Please write a comment in their reading record every time they read to you (it does not have to be a school reading book). Your comments help me to choose the most appropriate books for your child and ensure maximum progress. Once I have received a comment from you their home reading book will be changed.
In preparation for the country wide phonics test in June we will be sending home phonics activities based on the sounds that your children need to know. Please encourage them to complete this as it will ensure that they progress and are successful in their reading and writing.
We will be sending home maths once per week based on the activities completed in the class.
Many thanks for your support. If you have any queries please feel free to make an appointment to speak to me.
