We will be hosting a number day in aid of the NSPCC children charity. This will take place on Friday 7th February.
Children will be involved in a wide range of maths activities throughout the day. The day will be based around seeing numbers in the World around them and solving logic puzzles as well as looking at number themed reading and writing activities.
The children are invited to come to school in fancy dress, this can be anything number based or maths based. An old t-shirt with numbers/symbols written on it will be perfect! If you wish to be more elaborate with your design, then please feel free but remember the children need to be able to move around freely…
This will be a wonderful opportunity for all the children to explore maths in a fun and hands on way. Celebration assembly will take place as usual with children sharing their learning.
We will be trying to collect as many 20p coins as possible on the day and have set a target of 1000. Please can you send your child in with these in a sealed envelope to be given to the class teacher. As part of the day the children can then work out which class has collected the most 20p coins and the total amount raised for charity.
If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.
