Key Worker and Vulnerable Pupil letter

Practical Arrangements for Key Worker and vulnerable Pupils from 23rd March 2020 – 3rd April 2020

I am writing to share the daily arrangements for the provision of ongoing care through the period of school closure:

The school will be open from 08:00 – 18:00, Monday to Friday from Monday 23rd March 2020 for children who need and are eligible for it. Normal school hours will be 8.40 – 3.15.

Ø All pupils to bring a packed lunch. Pupils entitled to Free School Meals due to benefits will be provided with a lunch by the school.

Ø Pupils will need to wear their school uniforms as normal.

Ø Pupils to wear suitable footwear and bring outer clothes/coats suitable for indoor and outdoor activities.

Ø Pupils to bring in their books/book bags including work that has been sent home as we have allocated time to do these activities.

Ø Your child will be allowed into school during this time if contact has been made and agreed with the school. A register will be in reception upon entry.

The childcare provision is on the proviso of staff staying well enough to be in school.

Viability of this will be reviewed regularly.

Please note that this is not normal school provision – it is an emergency childcare initiative which will be safe and enjoyable for everyone involved, but will not be the same as a normal school day in terms of the educational provision provided.

We need to make sure that our staff are well protected as key workers themselves, all of whom have families and many of whom have children of their own.

I know that this time causes much anxiety, however we will all do our best to support each other through this time and I thank you for your ongoing support for all the staff at Sunny Bank.

We look forward to seeing your child next week

Mr Waters
