On behalf of all the children, parents, staff and the whole community we thank Mrs Wendy Coleman as she celebrates 25 years in service!
Head of school, Mr Waters presented Mrs Coleman with a lovely plant and a 25 years service medal to celebrate her silver anniversary and said, "During a time where the school is far from normal, it is wonderful to celebrate a remarkable achievement and provide a sense that some things have not changed. Wendy has dedicated a great deal of time into ensuring that the families and community of Sunny Bank can cross the road safely on the way and back home from school, indeed she is now crossing children of parents that used to cross as children!"
Mrs Coleman reflected on her time as a valued friend to the community,
“I was only going to stay 6 weeks - 25 years on and I am still here!
I would just like to thank Mr Waters and all the staff and parents over the years for their support. Seeing the children crossing the road safely is what makes my job worthwhile. Thank you.”
25 years is an impressive landmark and as a school we would like to thank Wendy for watching over us in her role as School Crossing Patrol and look forward to more safe crossings in the years to come.
Mr Waters says thank you.
