As you are aware we are currently driving forward improvements across the school to ensure that we can show progress towards the targets that we have been set by Ofsted.

I wrote to you in September to inform you that we would be reviewing our attendance procedures as this is a key area that we need to improve in. We have now reviewed our policy and updated it to reflect the importance of regular attendance (this can be found HERE).

As parents you play a vital role in ensuring that your child(ren) attend school daily. Our ‘Attendance Matters’ article HERE will give you a better understanding of the impact that absence from school has – in summary

‘Raise Your Childs Attendance, - Raise their Chances!

We will be writing to all parents whose children have an attendance of less than 96% (this is a general letter and will be sent to all families even those that we have already spoken to regarding the reason for low attendance). Please do not hesitate to contact Miss Allen or myself if you have any questions about this.

There will be a parent meeting to explain the changes in attendance next Wednesday (4th December) at 2.45pm in Sunny Bank school hall.

I look forward to seeing many of you there.

Thank you for your support in this matter

Yours Sincerely

Mr D Waters
